Transportation Theme Idea...

My kids and I did a fun craft last week. We made tracks using toy cars on black paper. We talked about the different patterns in the tracks and how cars have 2 track lines, but a motorcycle only has one track line. They really enjoyed it...and it was a fun new way to paint a masterpiece. If I had to do it again I would use a different color of paint for each car. All you need is cheap cars from the dollar store, washable paint, and construction paper. Easy peasy!!!

Chiffon Flowers

I'm in LOVE with these shabby chic chiffon flowers. I made this headband the other day with some little rosettes I found at Hobby Lobby. I attached each flower to a round piece of felt and added two hand cut felt leaves. Glued it to an alligator clip and attached it to one of my famous interchangeable headbands. It's perfect for Valentine's Day!

Modge Podge Craft Table

Getting organized in the new year!!!

I used to have all my craft supplies in my laundry room, but I recently moved all that stuff into the office so I could put my son's drums in the laundry room. I got rid of my little desk and put in a folding table up to have more craft space. The table was not very pretty on top and needed some TLC.
My office is gray, black, and white and for the table top I used scrapbook paper in those colors and mod podged them on top. I really like the way it turned out. The project was something I did on a whim so I just used the paper I already had on hand. If I were to do it again, I would make sure all the pages were a thicker card stock as it was easier to apply and didn't wrinkle up at all. Regardless, the table looks a lot better and looks kind of like a patch work quilt. I added about 3 layers of mod podge. I'm ready to get busy and hope to open my shop back up in about a week!

BEFORE AFTER

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Y'all!!!

The holidays are over...thank goodness! I love the holidays, but by the time they are over I'm in need of a vacation (kid free, by the ocean somewhere, quiet bungalow, wine, a good book....ok I think you get the picture). My husband and I have our 10 year wedding anniversary coming up in a month so maybe we can take this little vacay together.

Christmas was fantastic! The kids were spoiled with presents again this year and I had to rearrange their room again to fit them all. Santa brought my son some drums so I've had the same beat pounding in my head for the last 9 days. bom bom ching...bom bom ching...bom bom ching...du da du da du da du da...bom bom ching.... :0\ We are going to get him lessons soon! My little Miss Priss got a barbie scooter and a dolly. They both really loved everything they got and were thankful.

For New Years we went to the desert to camp in our trailer and ride motorcycles. It was a lot of fun and I got some great pictures.

I hope to blog a little more this year! Hope you have a great 2012!
