Teriyaki Chicken - Slow Cooker Meal

I found this awesome recipe for Teriyaki Chicken over at The Test Kitchen of Melissa Fallis she has incredible recipes for Pre-Prepped Freezer Meals for your Slow Cooker.  I changed it up just a little bit.  Might I add that the house smelled sooo good!  YUMMY!

Teriyaki Chicken
One Small Bag of Baby Carrots
1/2 Red Onion cut in large chunks
1 Can of Pineapple Chunks
1 Red Bell Pepper
4 Garlic Cloves chopped
1 cup of Teriyaki Sauce
I set my slow cooker on high for 3 hours and on low for 2 hours.

Doesn't this look DELICIOUS!!!

  I served this awesome dish with some brown rice and my kids LOVED it!

Slow Cooker Jambalaya

OMG...I saw this on pinterest and I knew I had to try it...or have my husband try it. {He cooks a little more often than I do...he's a firefighter who likes to eat and enjoys cooking and brewing his own beer}

When I showed him this recipe he was all over it and we had it for dinner tonight. This jambalya is not hot so it's okay for the kiddos. A few things though...Our Jambalaya was not as pretty as the picture, but it tasted delicious, also it says to wait till the last 30 minutes to add the rice and shrimp. 30 minutes was not long enough to cook the rice and yes we had it on high. I'd recommend a good hour for the rice and then put the shrimp for 30 minutes. Lesson Learned! Here is a picture of our tasty jambalaya and a home made brown ale beer made by my sweet hubby.

5 Star Meal at HOME {friendly recipies}

My long time friend is down from Washington staying with us for a week and tonight she made a delicious dinner for us. She made 5 Spice Pork with Roasted Oranges and Broccoli, Mash Potatoes, and Green Beans with Bacon. She got all the recipes from her Food Network Magazine, but here they are for you to see and for me to remember.
It was ALL wonderful...Thanks Alicia!!!

APPLE CRISP {YUM}

Tried a new recipe today that I found on Pinterest. Every October my MIL brings us some of the most delicious apples, but there were more than we could possible eat raw, so I found this VERY simple recipe, followed it to a tee, and it was incredible. Not too sweet, crunchy, and was great with a bit of vanilla ice cream. {YUM}
